On 11 November 1974, Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. He emerged on the screen in the 1990s and soon became America’s leading actor, notably famous for his complex and exceptional characters.

Beginning of Career from Childhood

He came on screen for the first time at age five when he performed as a child star in the children’s television show Romper Room. In his teenage, he worked in multiple commercials and educational films. Their career in television series started in the 1990s when he signed up to perform in the television series “The New Lassie and Roseanne.” The next year, in 1991, he was cast in “Growing Pains.” In the same year, he did a big-screen horror movie on a low budget, namely, “Critters 3”.

In 1993 he appeared in “This Boy’s life,” and he performed with an excellent sense of creativity in “What Eating Gilbert Grape.” This movie gave him a full rise in the film industry, and he was nominated as the best supporting teenage actor. He received Academy Award for performing a disabled teenager role.

In the coming years, he worked in different movies with diverse characters. In the 1990s, his teenage charm attracted a vast audience, and the producers hired him in the best movies. He executed the role of lover for the love-based story of “William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.” The character was unique and stole the hearts of millions of viewers.

In the year 1997, he played a leading role in an epic love story cum reality-based movie, “Titanic.” His good-looking and delightful character Jack Dawson became famous throughout the world, and almost half of the world watched this movie. In this movie, the guy Jack falls in love with a young, prettiest, and upper-class girl, which character played by Kate Winslet. The Titanic blockbuster movie considers the highest-grossing film.

After Titanic, Leonardo decided to act in a complicated and a whole different character after getting many characters to offer. In 2000, he opted to play a role in “The Beach.” Then after two years of break, he starred in the gangster story “Gangs of New York.” Then the following “Catch Me IF You Can” and “The Aviator” were his fabulous performing acts. The Aviator was nominated as the best character in the Academy Award.

In 2006, he again collaborated with Scorsese and appeared in “The Departed” and the most famous “Blood Diamond.” The year 2006 was a successful year when he signed and performed these two movies. Both movies garnered massive positive reviews, and he became the most prominent hero in the Hollywood film industry. The character of Diamond Smuggler was nominated for the Oscar Award.

In his career, he got a role as a CIA agent in “Body of Lies,” who was on a mission to search the terrorists. This character was seemingly different from the other ones he played in previous films. The complexity of this role was adopted by him and was plausible and appreciated by people.

“Revolutionary Road” was the project he assigned in 2008. The movie is based on the novel by Richard Yates. With some adaptations, the film was about a young couple and their efforts. After the 2008 achievement, he came to “Shutter Island,” produced by Scorsese. Moreover, in Inception (2010), the science fiction in 2011, J. Edgar, a biopic, the exciting and exemplary role played by him.

The Wolf of Wall Street came on screen and was a memoir. After performing in this movie, he was 4th in time nominated for Oscar Award. Furthermore, in the year 2015, The Revenant was his significant achievement, and he attained an Academy Award for this performance.

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood was the movie in which he attained a standing ovation. After the huge success, Leonardo was again nominated for the Sixth Oscar Award due to his profound acting skills.

Besides their acting career, he was involved in other activities and campaigns related to environmental issues and other societal problems. In the event of Earth Day, in 2000, he hosted the Earth Day festival, in which he interviewed the president of the United States of America, Bill Clinton. The interview was broadcasted on television, and the motive was Global Warming. In the program, major global or environmental issues and concerns are discussed.

His Contribution to Climate Safety

Another active step for improving the environment Leonardo took was becoming a member of the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Global Green USA.

Leonardo wrote a documentary on the niche of the environment, namely, The 11th Hour. He narrated this self-written documentary at the Cannes film festival in the year 2007. The literature was a brief detail about climate issues and beautifully presented. After this documentary, Leonardo once again produced and narrated a new documentary, “Ice On Fire,” in the year of 2019. The documentary, based on climate change, the documentary considers the solution to revive the climate to its original form.
